This was a really fast try out. I took Light's advice andd tried to sketch with colored pencils. It really helped and I did this really fast so thanks, Light. *gives a cookie*

There wasn't much of info about Garland so I just tried something fast. Also I was too lazy (or scared?) to try out to make the demon form. And yeah, I forgot the helmet. ^^''

For more ideas and suggestions you know what topic to use. If I'm correct I've got only few character sketches left.. Maybe two? When I've done those I'll start to do the colored versions.

And I just noticed that Garland is leaning a bit too much to the right. x') I should pay more attention to these kinds of things. Well, gald you liked it! More to come (when I can)

No I won't. I'll keep these sketches as they are but when I'm done with all of 'em I'll start to do the colored versions with poses and cool little details. ^^'' In other words, I'm screwed!! x') Thank god my vacation is going to start on next week~ \^__^/

In two weeks? Nice vacation! :'D The next vacation is my last 'long' vacation. After that there's going to be only max. four days lasting vacations meaning that I've gotta wait for the summer vacation next if I want a looong one..... :')
I can't wait to test my skills and try to make those characters~ Btw, which one do you prefer; That I should color them with my computer or with my ProMarkers (using only gray tunes with those)? I would do both but it would take too much of time and there are many character to do.

@Every artist: Just be sure to make lots of sketches and suggestions so that we can make a character that pleases everyone's eyes. :')

My next holiday is in April ^^ actually, every 6 weeks we got 10 days of rest =D and scoop ends the 20 June ! I can't wait ny summer vacation >.<

I too prefer digital art over traditional 'cause I can make as many mistakes as I want to. x)
I'm not very good with ProMarkers yet so I would only use two different kinds of gray tune... So I could make a small picture with traditional art and the bigger one with the tablet.
As for the time for the coloring... Well... I sketch an character in about 30-40 min. I guess.. And when I try to make a 'finished' version it can take veeery long.. Let's say that with traditional way it takes max. two hours to do "perfect" outlines. After that I'll color the work with the computer which takes about 2 hours too...
All in all... Let's put it to 3½-5 hours of work when I really really try to do something... I can be wrong about that thou'. ^^'' I usually just sketch quick works.. Big drawing things really take lots of time from me. Sorry.

Colored sketch takes me a lot of time too >.< As my black mage , more or less 12 hours T_T (I'm very slow I admit) but usually, If I just shadd quickly it takes me about 4 hours, so it's okay. And sketch ... 15 minutes if I know what I will draw

Well at least you're fast at sketching. It depends with me thou'. For example if I've got the full picture in my head the sketching can take only 15 to 20 minutes... If I'm lucky. :'D Well, there's no hurry for us so we can take all the time we need~

I've been practicing a bit with my Promarkers.. Only with the two gray tones thou'. But I like the results those two make. I've been trying to do Iza for a while now and I had to start over with my designs due to a mistake I made. x')
I can use my Promarkers for the portraits of the characters that I make before the actual "full view".

Well, he's had a very sad life...and he'll meet a very sad fate...so it fits. The worst part is, he's not even really a bad guy...he's a good guy whose hands are tied, essentially.

Can we get a pic of Garland fully decked out with his Dark Knight helmet and Dark Knight Armor? Kind of a combo between Cecil Harvey and Garland (yes, the original reference) from FF1? Plus, of course, your own epic style thrown in.

I like that bis sword a lot! I thought of doing a big sword too but a katana fascinated me more. ^^ Maybe 'cause of Uncle-Sephy.. Dunno.

It would be so nice if someone could design Garland's fully armored form. And the beast/demon form too. I could try but I've got no time for that right now and my skills aren't good enough to draw monsters. x')
I'l try to finish my current work so that I can start to design Garland again if no-one start to do it before me. : )

Garland was amazingly done. I still want to see him fully decked out in his "Demon Mail" armor.
