A possible Cid?

Okay remember the gunner i drew? Well i redesigned it. i switched his weapons from dual shotguns to a old school looking rifle.

Very cool...we will have to come up with a simple, one-syllable name for him and *if* we make more games from here on, we will have to have a different version in each one...like Cid. I like the old-fashioned, shotgun looking gun...but how about a pair of pistols...like Jack Sparrow type pistols, from Pirates of the Caribbean, ya know? I think that might fit better ^^

Interesting. Of course i'm still throwing design ideas around in my head.

We just were thinking the airship would be very steampunk, so old flintlock pistols might work better with that...

Probably, since we can't use Final Fantasy's Cid. Our Cid is something similar thou'. That's what I think.

But then again, I really don't think we need a Cid. We're trying to AVOID being a FF game, despite our initial steps. I personally think that if we have a recurring character, it needs to be from a direct sequel. Not a carrying legacy. The only stuff that should be carried over is our battle system and spells.

You're right, I don't want this game to be so much like Final Fantasy and having a Cid like character is way too similar.
We can still use the character but I don't believe we should associate him with Cid at all.

Perhaps he can just be a side character you meet along the way; talk to him in a shop or something and he gives you some information. Like Gatta or Luzzu, you know?

Well I'm fine with having him as a reoccurring character but I just really don't want to associate him to Cid at all. Dunno, it's just my opinion on the matter.

Yeeeah, you'd have a hard time looking through that. Most of it was Rose and I wallowing in the stupidity of the heroes in books we read. ^^;

Yes. But I think I'll let Rose explain it; she was at the session where he was originally created and was talking with me about it yesterday, so she knows both sides. I'd probably screw something up in explaining, and nobody else knows what we were talking about yesterday, hahhaa.
