Title Ideas

We REALLY need to think of title ideas for our game. So I thought it was time for a topic about it!

This might be kind of lame, but what is we considered calling the game just Exstasis? Or, The Extasis Chronicles. Something that relates to the main theme/object of the game. Like, The Mortal Instruments series centers around three objects called the Mortal Instruments.

Post ideas! We need to get moving again! (:

I wouldn't like to use the word "extasis" because it kinda sounds like the word ecstasy. That's why I opposed to give the name to the orb too at first. :')
But I do like the idea that we could use the word "chronicles" althou' it's pretty much used... Hmm... Same goes with "tales of-" and so on...

[insert the world's name here] Chronicles - for instance.

I'd like to come up with an unique idea so I'll hear more suggestions. Right now I've got nothing much to add.
Using the elements of the game itself when naming it is an good idea and used.
Let's see now.. We've got: "The world intself", Extasis Orb, The Void.... What else? - Well I'll leave it to you.

We could make it a contest. Princesskairi wanted a contest to get the thing moving again.

You can see that note too, thalia.

Perhaps we could use an element in the title.

Ecstasy... Lolololol.. Quite an imagination, even I didn't actually notice that.
Yup Chronicles sounds nice, I agree. Tales of etc. good, but these things, quite common eh? But meh, even I myself cannot think of a title.
But I'll try my best to come up with one. (Ahh titles... thinking of one isn't my talent, even thinking of titles for my artworks isn't my talent either haha, but I'll give it a shot, so prepare for something that can kill your eyes or ears of its lameness, lol.)

Also, what Doliath said, I think a contest would be great, I'd like to see a lot of suggestions for titles and reasons why they're chosen.

Nexis had suggested the title of ExIStance, which I liked for one. Also, we may not hear from him for a while. There are major things going on in his life, just to let everyone know.

Hm? Really. I though it was obvious! They're pronounced quite the same way aren't they? :'D
And that ExIStance sounds great but I'd like to hear if there's a story behind that name. What does it mean? I know what "existence" means thou'. :')
And I approve the contest idea! Could be fun~

Lol. The game existed because of the Orb's ExIStance. Loooool.

It is pronounced "Ex-STAY-sis".

I liked "Existence" as well, but I don't understand the meaning behind it either, except that it's similar to Exstasis.

Hmm.. So did anyone even try to arrange that little competition? Haven't heard anything new here either.
Random title ideas because I've got nothing else to do! Oh, and I figured out something too! Éxtasis is Spanish and means bliss or ecstasy.
But now I am a bit confused. Was it Exstasis or just Extasis that we used to name the orb??

Ideas:

Land That Existed - Could be a subtitle too.
Land of Bliss - Hm? Where do I get such ridiculous ideas!? And what's up with that word "land"?

Or do we want our own series? Like Final Fantasy~ -I heard that FF was supposed to be SS's (SE's) last game and that's why the name.-
Then we can come up with something that isn't related to the story of this game!
It could be something related to all of us but I can't come up with anything that deep!

Stories of the Young - Lol, anyone? In Latin: Fabula De Iuvenis... Pathetic!

Kairi should make a blog about that little competition, but I haven't seen anything yet.

I don't know what kind of prizes to give to the winner besides that our game is going to be that name.

Isn't the honor of naming the game and presenting the winner's name in the credits enough?
We can afford free art requests too, can't we?
Well whatever the case is, it's still a good idea to hold the competition. I don't think that people would go and demand prizes...
And can't you make a blog about it?

Personally, I think a contest to pick the title is a bad idea. The title should be something we all agree on and like; not something one person has the privelege of naming and it might not even be something the rest of us like. We've come this far agreeing on everything in the story; why not the title as well? We're all in this together; we might as well make our first statement together (being the title).

Too late for that but I didn't mean to take a random name either for our game! This just helps us a bit. Someone can win the contest and we will give him/her our thanks but that doesn't mean that we have to use the exact same name the winner came up with.
Sorry for not noticing this little problem.
And there can always be a case when no one wins.. *evil thoughts* >'3 Joke~

But the promised prize is that they'll have a mention in the credits and their title will be used. Some of the people who want to enter haven't even really worked on the game; not nearly as much as the rest of us. I still think that the title should be picked by the people who've put their actual time and energy into this project.

Well, you can't just cancel the contest. But only three people had said anything about a contest at all; I think in an attempt to get things moving, we may have jumped the gun a little bit. I'd revise the journal entry on the page and say we're looking for suggestions. To be honest, I don't know how to remedy the situation. You can't just delete the contest, but now we can't not call it a contest... :/

I don't mean to make anybody feel bad, but we don't want to be stuck with a title just because it was the best out of what was entered. When I upload voice acting auditions to my YouTube account, that doesn't mean we'll have to choose soley from who entered.

Just keep thinking of ideas. We'll come up with something we like, sooner or later. (:

Myth of [world's name] - We really need to talk and write more about the world before touching the story.
Fabula Extasis - Me and my dictionary. Bad Latin, Fairytale/Legend (of) Terror/Rapture. I know that in it's written Exstasis in our game but you can count that as a wordplay.

Now I am just being hyperactive. *facepalm*

I know its not the best proposal but I have in mind the word " Vita Eterna " i dont know why but it sounds cool xD and its italian it means " eternal life " (; maybe something like this ?

like ...the game will exist for ever , you know what I mean ?

I know what you're trying to say but maybe it's a bit too far-fetched.
Maybe we should stick with titles in English? Just my opinion though.

I'll be just/honest with my opinion.

Honestly, I cannot agree much on any title suggestion, exstasis and existance is great and quite close enough to making me agree. I'm sorry if I'm being picky here eventhough I don't have anything in mind to suggest. It's just.... something's telling me that there is a better and more suiting title for our game. As much as possible I'll try to think of something.

Either it has something to do with:
-the orb's name
-the whole story of the game
-the kingdom
-a name of the party/the hero/heroes
-an essence? /shot
-or anything else connected and seen in the whole game

@Chip: Hmm... I've heard that you and your anonymous friend have been talking about the story and some elements/quests of it, how bout you two try to come up with a better title and suggest it here... It's possible. (:
